Compared to us ...
Compared to us school lunches it is baffling how bad the lunches are in the US. We need to take up the french approach to school lunches. How many adults even eat this well! Of course, I hope Americans realize that this is the *law* there. Americans would need to accept that they need to either feed their children at home OR accept the government imposed lunch. You're going to have a lot of people complain about "freedom."

Usually I find Europeans a bit liberal for my taste, but I must say I think France has a Super Great Idea with thier school lunch programs. Why do we American's always treat our kids like their inferior, like they should appreciate the bare minimum.

I lived as a child ...
I lived as a child in Paris, however, I went to International School. But, during school vacations and summer, I went to a Poney Club stage (French for camp) and they served lunches just like this there. I ate, spoke, and became French by culture! I loved it!!!

You know why they called pizza a vegetable,, to save money. Instead of just getting the children the right amount of fruit /day they insisted that the tomato sauce in the pizza were a fruit, therefore they didn't have to put more money into school. Them americans

This food looks like crap, but at least they don't use frozen junk like they do here. My kids won't eat the school lunch here I'm packing theirs now. Kids can't even talk at my kids school during lunch I don't know how that is accomplished lol. The people in government are fools I will laught seventeen years down the road when we still have big people. I think it is wrong to judge people based on appearance we eat anything, and don't gain weight.
